I heartily enjoyed these bawdy, imaginative, and compassionate retellings of Bocaccio, Chaucer, and the Arabian Nights. My man Pasolini captures an alien otherness…the deep past is, after all, another country…without losing our deep potential connection to these situations and characters. I laughed aloud quite often and watched the Trilogy in three consecutive days. I might rewatch it this week!
The Criterion transfers are magnificent, vivid, colorful, and crisp!
